01 - Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan with butter or non-stick spray.
02 - In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt until fully combined.
03 - In a large mixing bowl, blend melted butter and sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract and mashed bananas.
04 - Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the banana mixture just until no flour streaks remain. Avoid overmixing to ensure bread stays moist.
05 - Gently fold in chopped walnuts if using.
06 - Pour batter evenly into prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
07 - Place pan on center rack and bake for 55 to 65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
08 - Remove bread from oven and let cool in pan for 10 minutes. Turn loaf onto a wire rack and allow to cool completely before slicing.
